Love poem

If you love
you don't have to worry
Because if you worry
it's just because you love.

And if you love
you don't have to hurry.
'cause even if your late
love will always wait.

If you love
you don't have to feel sorry.
'cause whatever you do
has got love in it too.

So don't worry, don't hurry
and do not feel sorry
Everything be as it may
if you love, it's okay.

Veel meer dan een uiterlijke reis door een enorm (en) kleurrijk subcontinent, is mijn reis door India ook een innerlijke reis. Iedereen die ik hier tegenkom lijkt op zoek te zijn naar zichzelf, op de meest uiteenlopende manieren. Om mijn innerlijke reis beter te begrijpen, is het denk ik belangrijk dat ik eerst wat meer uitleg geef bij mijn beslissing om naar India te komen, en vooral, om geen monnik te worden, zoals ik lang dacht te doen. Tijdens mijn verblijf in Plum Village voelde ik nooit de behoefte om verder te gaan en in te treden. Ik denk dat mijn eigenzinnige en eigenwijze aard mij tegenhield om mij volledig over te geven aan de gemeenschap. Een paar weken na mijn thuiskomst van Plum, kwam echter voor het eerst de gedachte in mij op om in te treden. Je moet zeker eerst iets missen om de waarde ervan in te schatten. Forests To Grow People

A piece about my life in Sadhana Forest  and how living in a sustainable reforestation community contributes to my understand of Interbeing. Originally written for Wake Up . Adapted from an earlier post . Tree planting in Sadhana Forest The past four years, I have been living and volunteering in an eco-community in South India. We live very simply in thatched roof huts made from local, natural materials. Our community is off-grid and uses only electricity from our solar panels and the water we draw from our well. In our daily life, we practice reforestation, bringing back to life an almost extinct indigenous tropical forest on a 70-acre piece of land, returning water, trees, and life to a once-barren and deserted area.
